E.B. Barkley combines a lifetime of passion for reading, acting, and music with his professional experience as a trial attorney to bring depth, memorable characters, and a keen ear for the writer's tone to each audiobook he records.
E.B. is an Indianapolis based audiobook narrator recording from a sound-proof home studio, which he designed and built by hand. He honed his communication technique over 16 years as a trial attorney, and developed Spanish language and pronunciation skills working as an immigration attorney. His degrees include a B.A. in History from Indiana University, a J.D. from the Maurer School of Law, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Denver (but for some reason, the IRS has yet to ask him to record an audio version of the Tax Code)!
E.B. has a lot of experience with family dynamics - adopted from infancy, he was also raised in a divorced family of divergent faiths. As a result, E.B. was immersed in both the Jewish tradition and traditional American Protestantism, and he has moved around - a lot. Originally from Arizona, he grew up in Colorado, has lived in the American South and Midwest, and has extensively traveled both in the United States and abroad, including summering in London and Barcelona. As an animal lover, he travels less frequently as his dog(s) and cats cannot go with him!
E.B. grew up on science fiction, fantasy, and literary classics. He dreams of Star Trek’s promise of a better tomorrow, participating in Star Wars against the Galactic Empire, and understanding the mysteries of the real universe. His love of fantasy and audiobooks were nurtured from a young age when he heard Rob Inglis narrate The Hobbit and The Lord of Rings, leading to many nights with friends at a tabletop, rolling dice of various shapes.
E.B. is an avid outdoorsman who keeps a tally of 14ers he has summited. He enjoys bicycling, kayaking, and camping with friends, where he always brings one of his (probably too) many guitars. He is also involved in local theater, his love of which began in high school where he performed in, and directed, school productions. He is now bringing his love of acting and storytelling to the books you read, write, and love.
